Weekend Diversion

Dis MM.  As many of you know sometimes our little ratties like to surprise us with medical emergencies, and this weekend, it was Cosmo that decided to divert our weekend plans.  He was a little lethargic Sunday morning and I had no idea what was wrong – everything seemed ok the day before – plenty of energy and fighting for sketti.  So we rushed him to the vet (thankfully open on Sunday) and after an x-ray he was diagnosed with pneumonia.  He received some sub-Q fluid, was prescribed three meds, and will get the best care.  Already today he seems to be a bit perkier and feeling better.  He gab me a big scare!

Bean and Augie came with him for emotional support and got checked out too.  Augie’s heart sounded normal!  No abnormalities heard this time, so that was great news.

Cosmo says “it’s not the right time” to pick raffle winners, so I will do it on his behalf and post the winners tomorrow.  (but I know you are all patient and understand how these things go).  If you want to send your well wishes I will read them all to him so he knows.  xo MM

Dear Cosmo, new monia is scary but when you take your medicine it turns into old monia and goes away. Stay away from the monias, especially A monia. It smells terrible!

Cosmos, Pneumonia is a pretty big deal so I hope you can take it easy and your brothers take care of you with your Mom and Dad. Corm and sketti sound like good healing food. I remember when Auggie’s eye got hurt and everyone prayed and sent good thoughts and how thankful we are he is okay. Now let us do that for you but when you get better I hope you get a whole Milano.

I hope you’re feeling better, Cosmo. A whole bunch of people have given you good advice, good thoughts, and lots of love. You can add me to the list. I’m glad your brothers went with you to the vet. That means a lot. Knowing loved ones are there for you is powerful medicine. Stay warm, rest, and follow your veterinarian’s orders. P.S. Please tell Augie and Bean I’m happy they’re doing well and feeling fine.
